Flashbulb - Short film

My Roles: Director, Writer, Co-Producer, Story Board and Previs Artist, Animator, Lighter, Texture Artist, Modeler, Compositor, and Rigger

Flash Bulb was created as the visual element to support the thesis requirement for my Master of Fine Art in Animation degree at Savannah College of Art & Design. The gist of my thesis argues that animation is often thought of a form of film that is meant for child consumption only and cannot have adult themes without receiving negative criticism or censorship. Further, refute this notion and assert that animation started as a medium for adults and still their is an appetite among adjusts to consume animation.  I researched censorship origins, the Hayes Code, the history of animation and those who went against the system that wished to pigeon hole animation into a medium meant only for the child audience. During the 6 month production, I collaborated with over 20 talented student volunteers that lent their talents to this films production, please see the credits for the full list.

Award: Young Directors Award - Best Animation
